ইংরেজিতে non- (“না/অ-”) উপসর্গ + causative শব্দ (লাতিন causare “কারণ ঘটানো”, causa “কারণ”) থেকে গঠিত।
Definition
Non-causative describes something that is not causative—i.e., it does not show that one agent makes or causes another event/action to occur; in linguistics it refers to verb forms/clauses where the subject does not cause the action in someone/something else.
Non-causative বলতে এমন কিছু বোঝায় যা causative নয়—অর্থাৎ এতে এক ব্যক্তি/কারক অন্য কোনো ঘটনা/কর্ম সংঘটিত করায় এমন কারণ-ফল (cause–effect) সম্পর্ক প্রকাশ পায় না; ভাষাবিজ্ঞানে এটি এমন ক্রিয়া/উপবাক্যকে বোঝায় যেখানে কর্তা অন্য কাউকে/কিছুকে দিয়ে কাজ করায় না।
