From Middle English mulberie, from Old English mōrberie, ultimately from Latin morum (mulberry) + -berry (berry).
মধ্য ইংরেজি mulberie থেকে; পুরোনো ইংরেজি mōrberie-র মাধ্যমে; মূলত লাতিন morum (তুঁত/মালবেরি) + -berry (বেরি/ফল) থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Mulberry refers (1) to any Morus tree that bears edible fruits, (2) to the sweet, soft, dark fruit of that tree, and (3) to a dark purple colour with a reddish tint; it can also be used as an adjective for that colour.
Mulberry বলতে বোঝায় (১) Morus গণের এমন তুঁতগাছ যা খাওয়ার উপযোগী ফল দেয়, (২) সেই গাছের মিষ্টি, নরম, গাঢ় রঙের তুঁতফল, এবং (৩) লালচে আভাযুক্ত গাঢ় বেগুনি একটি রং; এই রং বোঝাতে বিশেষণ হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
