Borrowed from French mouche (“fly”); the fashion sense refers to a small dark patch resembling a fly on the skin and was popular in 17th–18th century Europe.
ফরাসি mouche (“মাছি/ফ্লাই”) শব্দ থেকে আগত; ত্বকে বসানো ছোট কালো প্যাচটি দেখতে মাছির মতো হওয়ায় এ অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং ১৭–১৮ শতকে ইউরোপে ফ্যাশন হিসেবে জনপ্রিয় ছিল।
Definition
A mouche is a small, usually black, patch placed on the face as a fashionable beauty spot, common in European (especially French) high society in the 1600s–1700s; it could also be an actual beauty mark, and in French the same word means “fly.”
