From Latin motilis (“movable”), from movere (“to move”), with the suffix -ity; the term became common in scientific/medical English in the 19th–20th centuries.
লাতিন motilis (“চলনশীল/সরানো যায় এমন”) থেকে, যা এসেছে movere (“চলানো/সরানো”) ধাতু থেকে; -ity প্রত্যয় যোগে গঠিত। শব্দটি ১৯–২০ শতকে বৈজ্ঞানিক/চিকিৎসাবিষয়ক ইংরেজিতে বেশি প্রচলিত হয়।

Motility refers to the power of moving by one’s own action, commonly used in biology and medicine to describe how cells (like sperm) or organs (like the gut) move.
