From Latin corymbus, from Greek korymbos meaning “cluster, bunch (of flowers/fruit)”.
লাতিন corymbus থেকে এসেছে, যা গ্রিক korymbos শব্দ থেকে উদ্ভূত; অর্থ “গুচ্ছ/থোকা (ফুল বা ফলের)”。
Definition
In botany, a corymbus is an inflorescence (flower cluster) where lower/outer pedicels (flower stalks) grow longer than the upper/inner ones so that the flowers form a more or less level, flat-topped cluster; it resembles an umbel but differs because the stalks arise at different points along the main axis.
উদ্ভিদবিদ্যায় corymbus হলো এক ধরনের পুষ্পবিন্যাস যেখানে নীচের/বাইরের ফুলের ডাঁটা (পেডিসেল) ওপরের/ভিতরের ডাঁটার চেয়ে লম্বা হয়, ফলে ফুলগুলো প্রায় একই উচ্চতায় এসে সমতল বা সামান্য উত্তল শীর্ষবিশিষ্ট গুচ্ছ তৈরি করে; দেখতে উম্বেল-এর মতো হলেও পার্থক্য হলো ডাঁটাগুলি প্রধান অক্ষের বিভিন্ন বিন্দু থেকে উৎপন্ন হয়।
