Origin & History
Formed in modern English from the prefix co- (“together, jointly”) + design; popularized in design, public service, and innovation contexts alongside the term participatory design (notably from late 20th century onward).
আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে co- (“একসাথে/যৌথভাবে”) উপসর্গ + design শব্দের সংযোজনে গঠিত; নকশা, জনসেবা ও উদ্ভাবন ক্ষেত্রে participatory design ধারণার সাথে সম্পর্কিতভাবে (বিশেষত ২০শ শতকের শেষভাগ থেকে) ব্যাপকভাবে প্রচলিত।
Definition
Co-design is an approach to designing products, services, systems, or experiences where multiple participants—such as designers, users, clients, community members, and other stakeholders—work together throughout the design process (research, ideation, prototyping, and testing) to ensure solutions reflect real needs and shared ownership.
কো-ডিজাইন হলো পণ্য, সেবা, সিস্টেম বা অভিজ্ঞতা নকশার এমন একটি পদ্ধতি যেখানে ডিজাইনারদের সঙ্গে ব্যবহারকারী, ক্লায়েন্ট, কমিউনিটি সদস্য ও অন্যান্য অংশীজনরা পুরো নকশা প্রক্রিয়া (গবেষণা, ধারণা তৈরী, প্রোটোটাইপ, পরীক্ষা) জুড়ে একসাথে কাজ করেন—যাতে সমাধান বাস্তব চাহিদা প্রতিফলিত করে এবং সবার যৌথ মালিকানা তৈরি হয়।
