সংস্কৃত ‘পরলোক’ (পর + লোক, অর্থ ‘অপর/পরের জগত’) থেকে বাংলা ‘পরলোক’, তার সঙ্গে বিশেষণ-সূচক প্রত্যয় ‘-ীয়’ যোগে ‘পরলোকীয়’

From Sanskrit ‘পরলোক (paraloka)’ (para ‘beyond’ + loka ‘world’), into Bengali ‘পরলোক’, with the adjectival suffix ‘-ীয়’ forming ‘পরলোকীয়’
