সংস্কৃত ‘পরি’ (চারদিকে/সম্পূর্ণভাবে) + ‘মার্জন’ (মোছা/পরিষ্কার করা) থেকে গঠিত; অর্থে ‘ভুলত্রুটি মুছে শুদ্ধ করা/পরিষ্কার করা’ থেকে ‘সংশোধন ও উন্নতকরণ’ অর্থে ব্যবহৃত
