অ্যান্ড্রোজেন হলো একদল স্টেরয়েডজাত হরমোন (যেমন টেস্টোস্টেরন) যা প্রধানত অণ্ডকোষে এবং কিছুটা অ্যাড্রিনাল গ্রন্থি ও ডিম্বাশয়ে উৎপন্ন হয়; এগুলো পুরুষদের গৌণ যৌন বৈশিষ্ট্য (কণ্ঠস্বর ভারী হওয়া, দাড়ি-গোঁফ, পেশি বৃদ্ধি), যৌন বিকাশ, ও প্রজননক্ষমতা নিয়ন্ত্রণে সাহায্য করে, এবং নারীদেহেও স্বল্পমাত্রায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে
Androgens are a group of steroid hormones (e.g., testosterone) produced mainly in the testes and to a lesser extent in the adrenal glands and ovaries; they regulate male secondary sexual characteristics (deeper voice, facial hair, muscle growth), sexual development, and reproductive function, and also play important roles in females at lower levels
