From Sanskrit ‘अभय’ (a- ‘not’ + ‘भय’ ‘fear’), meaning ‘without fear/fearless’, which passed into Bengali as ‘অভয়’

যে অবস্থা বা অনুভূতিতে ভয় নেই; নির্ভয়ে থাকা বা কাউকে ভয়মুক্ত আশ্বাস/নিরাপত্তা দেওয়া
