অকারণতা বলতে এমন অবস্থা বা প্রবণতাকে বোঝায় যেখানে কোনো কাজ, আচরণ, অভিযোগ, ভয়, সন্দেহ বা ঘটনার পেছনে যুক্তিসঙ্গত কারণ বা পর্যাপ্ত ভিত্তি থাকে না; তা অযৌক্তিক বা ভিত্তিহীন বলে বিবেচিত হয়
