বাংলা ক্রিয়া ‘খাওয়া’ (খা-) ধাতু থেকে ‘খেয়ো’ গঠিত; অর্থ ‘যে খায়/ভক্ষণ করে’, প্রসঙ্গে ‘খেয়ে ফেলা/মানুষখেকো’ অর্থে প্রচলিত
