যে পরিস্থিতিতে হঠাৎ করে অনর্থক হৈচৈ, ঝগড়াঝাঁটি, বিভ্রান্তি, বিশৃঙ্খলা বা উত্তেজনা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে তাকে ‘গুলমাল’ বলা হয়; প্রায়ই গুজব, ভুল বোঝাবুঝি বা তর্ক থেকে এমন অবস্থা তৈরি হয়
