সংস্কৃত ‘দুর্-’ (অশুভ/খারাপ অর্থে উপসর্গ) + ‘ঘ্রাণ’ (গন্ধ/ঘ্রাণেন্দ্রিয়ের বিষয়) থেকে গঠিত; অর্থ ‘খারাপ গন্ধ’

Formed from Sanskrit dur- (a prefix meaning bad/ill) + ghrāṇa (smell/odor); literally ‘bad smell’.

Definition

যে তীব্র, কটু ও অপ্রীতিকর গন্ধ নাকে লাগে এবং অস্বস্তি বা বিরাগ সৃষ্টি করে; পচা-গলা জিনিস, আবর্জনা, নর্দমা ইত্যাদি থেকে এমন গন্ধ হতে পারে
