বাংলা ধাতু/ক্রিয়া ‘বাড়া/বৃদ্ধি’ ধারণা থেকে ‘বেড়ে’ (বাড়া-এর ক্রিয়াবিশেষণ/ক্রিয়াপদ রূপ) এবং গমনসূচক সহকারী ক্রিয়া ‘যাওয়া’ যুক্ত হয়ে ‘বেড়ে যাওয়া’ গঠিত; অর্থ ‘বাড়তে থাকা/বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে অবস্থায় পৌঁছানো’
Formed in Bengali by combining ‘বেড়ে’ (a form related to the idea of ‘বাড়া/বৃদ্ধি’, to increase) with the auxiliary/motion verb ‘যাওয়া’ (‘to go’), yielding the sense ‘to grow/increase (and come to be in a higher state)’
Definition
কোনো কিছুর পরিমাণ, সংখ্যা, দাম, তাপমাত্রা, চাপ, ঝুঁকি, কাজের চাপ, জনসংখ্যা ইত্যাদি ধীরে বা দ্রুত বাড়তে থাকা—অর্থাৎ পূর্বের তুলনায় বেশি হয়ে যাওয়া বোঝায়
