‘বাহ্যিক’ শব্দটি ‘বাহ্য’ (বাইরের) থেকে এবং ‘অঙ্গ’ শব্দটি সংস্কৃত ‘অঙ্গ’ (শরীরের অংশ) থেকে এসেছে; মিলিয়ে অর্থ দাঁড়ায় দেহের বাইরের অংশ
‘Bāhyik’ comes from ‘bāhya’ meaning ‘outer/external’, and ‘aṅga’ is from Sanskrit ‘aṅga’ meaning ‘limb/body part’; together it denotes the external parts of the body
Definition
মানুষ বা প্রাণীর শরীরের যে অঙ্গগুলো দেহের বাইরে অবস্থিত এবং সাধারণত চোখে দেখা যায়—যেমন হাত, পা, মুখ, কান, নাক ইত্যাদি—সেগুলোকেই বাহ্যিক অঙ্গ বলা হয়
