Origin & History
From Russian yúrta, from Turkic languages (e.g., Kazakh/ Kyrgyz), meaning a 'dwelling' or 'homestead'; in Mongolian the similar home is called a ger.
रूसी शब्द yúrta से, जो तुर्की भाषाओं (जैसे कज़ाख/किर्गिज़) से आया माना जाता है और जिसका अर्थ 'निवास/घर-ठिकाना' होता है; मंगोलियाई में इसी प्रकार के घर को प्रायः ger कहा जाता है।
Definition
A yurt is a circular, collapsible dwelling with a lattice wooden wall and roof poles, covered with felt or fabric, designed to be portable and weather-resistant, traditionally used by nomads in Mongolia and nearby regions.
युर्ट एक गोलाकार, आसानी से खोला-बंद किया जा सकने वाला आवास है, जिसमें जालीदार लकड़ी की दीवार और छत के डंडे होते हैं तथा ऊपर फेल्ट/कपड़ा चढ़ा होता है; यह आसानी से ले जाने योग्य और मौसम-रोधी होता है, और परंपरागत रूप से मंगोलिया व आसपास के क्षेत्रों के घुमंतू लोग इसका उपयोग करते हैं।
