Definition
A statistic is (1) a single piece of data in a statistical study, or (2) a value computed from a sample (e.g., mean, median, standard deviation) to describe the sample; informally, it can also mean a person or event treated only as a number.
'Statistic' का अर्थ (1) किसी सांख्यिकीय अध्ययन का एक डेटा-बिंदु/आइटम, या (2) नमूने के डेटा से निकाला गया ऐसा मान (जैसे औसत, माध्यिका, मानक विचलन) जो नमूने की किसी महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता का वर्णन करे; बोलचाल में यह किसी व्यक्ति/घटना को सिर्फ संख्या बनाकर देखने के लिए भी कहा जाता है।
