Modern political/administrative compound formed from single + district; widely used in election-law contexts (especially in American English) in the 19th–20th centuries.
‘single’ + ‘district’ से बना आधुनिक राजनीति/प्रशासनिक संयुक्त शब्द; चुनावी कानून के संदर्भ में (विशेषकर अमेरिकी अंग्रेज़ी में) 19वीं–20वीं शताब्दी में व्यापक रूप से प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Describing an electoral arrangement in which each geographic district elects one representative (as opposed to multi-member districts).
