Definition
“Shear” means (1) to cut or clip something, often with large scissors called shears (e.g., cutting wool from sheep or trimming hair/cloth), and (2) in science/engineering, a force that makes layers slide past each other (shear force), and (3) in math/graphics, a transformation that shifts points parallel to a line by an amount proportional to distance from that line.
“Shear” का अर्थ (1) किसी चीज़ को काटना/कतरना है, अक्सर बड़े कैंची जैसे औज़ार (shears) से (जैसे भेड़ की ऊन उतारना या बाल/कपड़ा काटना), और (2) विज्ञान/अभियांत्रिकी में ऐसी कतरनी (shear) शक्ति जो परतों को एक-दूसरे के सापेक्ष सरकाती है, तथा (3) गणित/ग्राफिक्स में ‘shear transformation’ जिसमें बिंदुओं को किसी रेखा के समानांतर उनकी दूरी के अनुपात में खिसकाया जाता है।
