“Rankest” is the superlative of “rank.” It can mean (1) the most extreme or unmitigated (often about something bad: ‘rankest nonsense’), (2) the most foul-smelling or disgusting (‘rankest odor’), or (3) the most luxuriant/coarse in growth (‘rankest weeds/grass’).
