Definition
Radix means a root or fundamental base. In general use it can mean a root (literal or figurative), in linguistics it is a primitive word-form from which other words are derived, and in mathematics/computing it is the base of a numeral system (e.g., radix 10 for decimal, radix 2 for binary).
