Origin & History
Named after Edward Pulaski (U.S. Forest Service), who helped popularize/design the tool for wildfire work in the early 20th century.
इसका नाम एडवर्ड पुलास्की (अमेरिकी वन सेवा) के नाम पर पड़ा, जिन्होंने 20वीं सदी की शुरुआत में जंगल की आग के काम के लिए इस औज़ार के डिज़ाइन/प्रचलन में योगदान दिया।
Definition
A Pulaski is a long-handled, double-ended tool used especially in wildland firefighting and trail work; one end is an axe for chopping and the other is a mattock/hoe for digging and scraping soil to create firebreaks.
पुलास्की एक लंबे दस्ते वाला, दोनों सिरों का औज़ार है, जिसका उपयोग विशेषकर जंगलों की आग बुझाने और ट्रेल/रास्ता बनाने के काम में होता है; एक सिरा लकड़ी काटने के लिए कुल्हाड़ी का होता है और दूसरा सिरा मिट्टी खोदने/खुरचने के लिए मट्टॉक/खुरपी जैसा होता है, जिससे फायरब्रेक (आग रोकने की पट्टी) बनाई जाती है।
