Definition
Pteropods are small, free-swimming ocean mollusks (sea snails or sea slugs) that move using winglike flaps and live in the open sea; they are commonly called sea butterflies.
प्टेरोपोड्स छोटे, खुले समुद्र में रहने वाले मुक्त-तैराक समुद्री मोलस्क (समुद्री घोंघे या समुद्री स्लग) होते हैं जो पंख-जैसे फ्लैप से तैरते हैं; इन्हें आम तौर पर ‘सी बटरफ्लाई’ (समुद्री तितली) भी कहा जाता है।
