Formed from pseudo- (“false”) + science; the prefix comes from Greek pseudes (“lying/false”). The term became common in English in the 19th century to label claims presented as scientific without meeting scientific standards.
यह शब्द pseudo- (“झूठा/कृत्रिम”) + science से बना है; pseudo- उपसर्ग ग्रीक pseudes (“झूठा”) से आया है। 19वीं शताब्दी में अंग्रेज़ी में यह शब्द उन दावों के लिए प्रचलित हुआ जो विज्ञान के रूप में प्रस्तुत होते थे लेकिन वैज्ञानिक मानकों पर खरे नहीं उतरते थे।
Definition
Pseudoscience refers to ideas or practices that imitate the language and appearance of science but do not follow the scientific method, are not testable in a rigorous way, or ignore contradictory evidence.
छद्मविज्ञान उन विचारों या प्रथाओं को कहते हैं जो विज्ञान जैसी भाषा और रूप तो अपनाते हैं, लेकिन वैज्ञानिक विधि का पालन नहीं करते, कठोर रूप से परखे नहीं जा सकते, या विरोधी साक्ष्यों को नज़रअंदाज़ करते हैं।
