From Latin prōicere (“to throw forth”), from prō- (“forward”) + iacere (“to throw”), via Medieval Latin projectilis and later French/Latin influence into English.
लैटिन prōicere (“आगे की ओर फेंकना”) से, जहाँ prō- (“आगे”) + iacere (“फेंकना”) है; मध्यकालीन लैटिन projectilis तथा बाद में फ़्रेंच/लैटिन प्रभाव के माध्यम से यह शब्द अंग्रेज़ी में आया।
Definition
A projectile is any object propelled forward by force (by throwing, firing, or launching), moving through the air or space; in physics it can also mean an object moving under the influence of gravity after being launched.
प्रक्षेप्य वह वस्तु है जिसे बल लगाकर आगे की ओर फेंका, दागा या प्रक्षेपित किया जाता है और जो हवा या अंतरिक्ष में चलती है; भौतिकी में यह उस वस्तु को भी कहते हैं जिसे प्रक्षेपण के बाद मुख्यतः गुरुत्वाकर्षण के प्रभाव में गति करती हुई माना जाता है।
