Definition
Printmaking is a branch of visual art in which an artist creates images by transferring ink or paint from a prepared surface (such as a woodblock, metal plate, stone, or screen) onto paper or another material, often allowing multiple copies (editions) to be produced. Common methods include woodcut, engraving, etching, lithography, and screen printing.
प्रिंटमेकिंग दृश्य कला की वह शाखा है जिसमें कलाकार तैयार की गई सतह (जैसे लकड़ी का ब्लॉक, धातु की प्लेट, पत्थर या स्क्रीन) से स्याही या रंग को कागज़ या किसी अन्य सामग्री पर स्थानांतरित करके चित्र बनाता है, जिससे अक्सर एक ही कृति की कई प्रतियाँ (एडिशन) बनाई जा सकती हैं। सामान्य विधियों में वुडकट, एन्ग्रेविंग, एचिंग, लिथोग्राफी और स्क्रीन प्रिंटिंग शामिल हैं।
