A modern automotive engineering term formed from power + train (as in gear train), widely used from the mid-20th century to describe the engine/motor and transmission of power to the wheels.
यह आधुनिक ऑटोमोटिव इंजीनियरिंग का शब्द है जो power + train (जैसे ‘गियर ट्रेन’/गियर-श्रृंखला) से बना है; 20वीं शताब्दी के मध्य से यह वाहन में शक्ति उत्पन्न करने और उसे पहियों तक पहुँचाने वाले तंत्र के लिए व्यापक रूप से प्रयुक्त होने लगा।
Definition
A powertrain is the complete system that produces power and delivers it to a vehicle’s wheels, typically including the engine or electric motor, transmission/gearbox, drive shafts, differential, and related parts; it excludes non-propulsion systems like the suspension or brakes.
पावरट्रेन वाहन का वह पूरा तंत्र है जो शक्ति उत्पन्न करता है और उसे पहियों तक पहुँचाता है; इसमें आम तौर पर इंजन/इलेक्ट्रिक मोटर, ट्रांसमिशन/गियरबॉक्स, ड्राइव शाफ्ट, डिफरेंशियल आदि शामिल होते हैं; सस्पेंशन या ब्रेक जैसी गैर-प्रणोदन प्रणालियाँ इसमें शामिल नहीं होतीं।
