“प्लास्टिक” शब्द (पदार्थ) से; मूलतः ग्रीक plastikos (“ढालने योग्य”), जो plassein (“ढालना/रूप देना”) से निकला है।
Definition
“Plastics” most commonly refers to synthetic polymer materials that can be moulded into many shapes; in informal usage it can also mean credit/debit cards (“paying with plastic”), plastic surgery, or a sense of fakeness/arrogance.
“Plastics” का सबसे सामान्य अर्थ ऐसे कृत्रिम बहुलक पदार्थों से है जिन्हें विभिन्न आकारों में ढाला जा सकता है; बोलचाल में इसका अर्थ क्रेडिट/डेबिट कार्ड (“प्लास्टिक से भुगतान”), प्लास्टिक सर्जरी, या नकलीपन/अहंकार भी हो सकता है।
