यह शब्द planar + -ity से बना है; इसका मूल लैटिन planus (अर्थ: “समतल/चपटा”) से जुड़ा है।
Definition
Planarity refers to how well something lies in a single flat plane; in mathematics (especially graph theory), it means a graph can be represented on a plane so that edges intersect only at shared endpoints (vertices).
प्लानैरिटी का अर्थ है किसी वस्तु का एक ही समतल (फ्लैट सतह) में होना; गणित (विशेषकर ग्राफ सिद्धांत) में इसका मतलब है कि किसी ग्राफ को समतल पर इस तरह बनाया जा सके कि किनारे (edges) केवल साझा सिरों (vertices) पर ही मिलें, बीच में एक-दूसरे को न काटें।
