Definition
A phobia is a persistent, excessive fear that is out of proportion to the real danger and can cause avoidance and anxiety; in clinical contexts it may be diagnosed as a specific phobia or related anxiety disorder.
फोबिया किसी वस्तु, स्थिति, गतिविधि या विचार के प्रति लगातार और अत्यधिक डर होता है जो वास्तविक खतरे की तुलना में अनुपातहीन होता है और अक्सर बचाव (avoidance) तथा घबराहट/चिंता पैदा करता है; चिकित्सीय संदर्भ में इसे विशिष्ट फोबिया या संबंधित चिंता विकार के रूप में निदान किया जा सकता है।
