Definition
Ozena is a form of chronic atrophic rhinitis in which the nasal mucosa becomes thinned and dry, leading to crust formation and a characteristic offensive smell (fetor). It may be associated with long-standing infection and widening of the nasal cavities, and can cause nasal obstruction, reduced sense of smell, and recurrent crusting.
ओज़ेना (Ozena) क्रॉनिक एट्रोफिक राइनाइटिस का एक रूप है जिसमें नाक की श्लेष्मा झिल्ली पतली और सूखी हो जाती है, जिससे नाक में पपड़ी बनती है और विशिष्ट दुर्गंध (फेटर) आती है। यह लंबे समय के संक्रमण और नासिका गुहाओं के फैलने से जुड़ा हो सकता है तथा नाक बंद होना, सूंघने की क्षमता कम होना और बार-बार पपड़ी बनना जैसी समस्याएँ पैदा कर सकता है।
