From out- + flank; originally a military term meaning to turn an enemy’s flank.
out- (बाहर/पार/आगे) + flank (पक्ष/बगल) से बना; मूलतः सैन्य शब्द, जिसका अर्थ शत्रु के ‘फ्लैंक’ को घेरकर/घुमाकर लाभ लेना था।
Definition
To move around the side of an opposing force and attack from a position of advantage; more generally, to outmaneuver a rival and gain a tactical edge.
(विशेषकर युद्ध में) विरोधी बल के किनारे से घूमकर पीछे/बगल से लाभकारी स्थिति बनाकर हमला करना; सामान्य रूप से किसी प्रतिद्वंद्वी को रणनीति से मात देकर बढ़त हासिल करना।
