Origin & History
From out + board, literally meaning ‘outside the side/planking (of a boat)’, later used for motors mounted externally and for external studio equipment.
out + board से बना शब्द; मूल अर्थ ‘नाव/जहाज़ की बगल/पटरे के बाहर’ था, बाद में बाहर लगाए जाने वाले मोटरों और फिर स्टूडियो के बाहरी उपकरणों के लिए भी प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Outboard refers to something positioned on the outside of a boat/ship’s hull or away from a vehicle’s centerline; as a noun it commonly means an outboard motor, and in audio it means external processing gear used with a studio/recording setup.
आउटबोर्ड का अर्थ है नाव/जहाज़ के ढांचे (हुल) के बाहर स्थित वस्तु या केंद्र रेखा से बाहर की ओर लगी चीज़; संज्ञा के रूप में यह अक्सर आउटबोर्ड मोटर को दर्शाता है, और ऑडियो में यह स्टूडियो/रिकॉर्डिंग सेटअप के साथ इस्तेमाल होने वाले बाहरी (स्टैंडअलोन) इफेक्ट/प्रोसेसिंग उपकरणों के लिए बोला जाता है।
