Definition
An osteoma is a slow-growing, benign bone tumor composed of mature, compact or cancellous bone, most commonly arising on the skull or facial bones and often discovered incidentally on imaging; it may cause symptoms if it obstructs nearby structures (e.g., sinuses) or compresses tissues.
ऑस्टियोमा एक धीरे-धीरे बढ़ने वाला, सौम्य (गैर-कैंसरयुक्त) अस्थि-ट्यूमर है जो परिपक्व, घनी (कम्पैक्ट) या स्पंजी (कैंसलस) हड्डी से बना होता है; यह प्रायः खोपड़ी या चेहरे की हड्डियों में पाया जाता है और अक्सर इमेजिंग में संयोग से पता चलता है। यदि यह पास की संरचनाओं (जैसे साइनस) में रुकावट पैदा करे या ऊतकों पर दबाव डाले तो लक्षण हो सकते हैं।
