Definition
Osmanthus is an evergreen (or sometimes semi-evergreen) shrub or small tree in the genus Osmanthus (family Oleaceae), valued for its intensely fragrant, usually small white to yellow-orange flowers; some species (especially sweet osmanthus) are used to scent tea, make flavorings, and in perfumes.
ओस्मैनथस (Osmanthus) जैतून कुल (Oleaceae) का एक सदाबहार (कभी-कभी अर्ध-सदाबहार) झाड़ीदार पौधा या छोटा पेड़ है, जो अपने बेहद सुगंधित, प्रायः छोटे सफ़ेद से पीले-नारंगी फूलों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है; कुछ प्रजातियाँ (विशेषकर स्वीट ओस्मैनथस) चाय को सुगंधित करने, फ्लेवरिंग बनाने और इत्र में उपयोग होती हैं।
