Definition
In biology (especially botany), an opsistype is a kind of hybrid offspring that largely takes after one parent species in appearance or characters, instead of being intermediate; the term is used in hybrid taxonomy to describe parent-like hybrid forms.
जीवविज्ञान (विशेषकर वनस्पति विज्ञान) में opsistype ऐसा संकर (हाइब्रिड) वंशज होता है जो मध्यवर्ती संकर रूप दिखाने के बजाय अपने माता-पिता में से किसी एक प्रजाति के रूप-रंग/लक्षणों से अधिक मेल खाता है; संकर वर्गीकरण में इसे माता-पिता-सा दिखाई देने वाले संकर रूप के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है।
