Definition
Obeah refers to a set of traditional Afro-Caribbean beliefs and practices involving folk magic, spiritual work, healing, and sometimes what outsiders label as witchcraft; it can also mean the practitioner (a person who performs obeah) or a specific charm/spell, and as a verb it means to bewitch someone using such practices.
ओबीआह अफ्रो-कैरिबियाई परंपरागत मान्यताओं और प्रथाओं का एक समूह है, जिसमें लोक-जादू, आध्यात्मिक साधना, उपचार और कभी-कभी (बाहरी दृष्टि से) ‘टोना-टोटका’ कहे जाने वाले कर्म शामिल होते हैं; इसका अर्थ ओबीआह करने वाला व्यक्ति (साधक/जादू-वैद्य) या कोई विशेष जादुई टोना/ताबीज भी हो सकता है, और क्रिया रूप में इसका मतलब ऐसे तरीक़ों से किसी को मंत्रमुग्ध/वशीभूत करना होता है।
