Definition
Oat is a widely cultivated cereal grass (Avena sativa) grown for its nutritious grain (oats), commonly eaten as porridge, oatmeal, or added to baked foods; the word can also refer to related wild or cultivated Avena species, and historically to a simple pipe made from oat-straw.
