Definition
A northeaster is a strong extratropical storm that develops over the Atlantic near the northeastern coast of North America and is characterized by winds coming from the northeast, often bringing heavy rain or snow and coastal flooding.
नॉर्थईस्टर (नॉर’ईस्टर) एक शक्तिशाली उष्णकटिबंध-बाह्य (extratropical) तटीय तूफ़ान है जो अक्सर उत्तरी-पूर्वी उत्तर अमेरिका के पास अटलांटिक महासागर में बनता है; इसमें हवाएँ सामान्यतः उत्तर-पूर्व दिशा से चलती हैं और यह भारी बारिश/बर्फ़बारी तथा तटीय बाढ़ ला सकता है।
