From the verb normalize (Latin normalis “made according to a rule, regular” from norma “carpenter’s square, rule”) + the agent suffix -er; popularized in technical use in statistics, computing, and engineering.
यह normalize क्रिया से बना है (लैटिन normalis ‘नियम के अनुसार बना, नियमित’, जो norma ‘कारपेंटर का स्क्वायर/नियम’ से आया) + कर्ता/साधन सूचक प्रत्यय -er; सांख्यिकी, कंप्यूटिंग और इंजीनियरिंग में तकनीकी प्रयोग से यह शब्द अधिक प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
A normalizer is something (a tool, process, or person) that brings data, behavior, conditions, or measurements to a standard or ‘normal’ form; in statistics and machine learning it often means rescaling/standardizing features, and in databases it can mean applying normalization rules to reduce redundancy.
