यह शब्द non- (“नहीं/अभाव”) + sterility से बना है; sterility की जड़ लैटिन sterilis (“बाँझ/अनुत्पादक; निर्जीवाणु”) में है, जो फ्रेंच/अंग्रेज़ी वैज्ञानिक प्रयोग के माध्यम से आया।
Definition
Nonsterility means the condition in which something is not sterile—i.e., it may contain living microorganisms or contaminants and therefore is not free from germs.
नॉनस्टेरिलिटी का अर्थ है किसी वस्तु का निर्जीवाणु (स्टेराइल) न होना—अर्थात उसमें सूक्ष्मजीव/दूषक मौजूद हो सकते हैं, इसलिए वह कीटाणुरहित नहीं मानी जाती।
