non- (“नहीं”) + refracting (refract का वर्तमान कृदंत; लैटिन refringere से, अर्थ “पीछे की ओर तोड़ना/मोड़ना”).

Describing a material, surface, or region in which light passes without being bent (refracted), or in which refraction is negligible; used mainly in optics and physics contexts.
