Origin & History
From neuro- “nerve” (via Greek neuron) + -path “one who suffers/treats disease” (via Greek pathos “suffering”); formed as a medical term.
neuro- (ग्रीक neuron ‘तंत्रिका’) + -path (ग्रीक pathos ‘पीड़ा/रोग’ से) से बना चिकित्सीय शब्द; अर्थतः ‘तंत्रिका रोगों से संबंधित/उनका उपचार करने वाला’।
Definition
A neuropath is a medical specialist concerned with disorders of the nerves and nervous system, including diagnosing and treating neurological conditions; in modern usage this is largely replaced by “neurologist.”
न्यूरोपैथ वह विशेषज्ञ (चिकित्सक) है जो नसों और तंत्रिका तंत्र के विकारों का अध्ययन, निदान और उपचार करता है; आधुनिक उपयोग में इसके स्थान पर प्रायः “न्यूरोलॉजिस्ट” कहा जाता है।
