Origin & History
From neo- (“new”) + tropical, used in biogeography to denote the “New World tropics” (the tropical Americas).
neo- (अर्थ: “नया”) + tropical (उष्णकटिबंधीय) से बना शब्द; जीव-भूगोल में “नई दुनिया के उष्णकटिबंध” अर्थात उष्णकटिबंधीय अमेरिका क्षेत्र के लिए प्रयोग।
Definition
Relating to the tropical biogeographic region that includes Central and South America, the Caribbean, and parts of southern North America; used especially in ecology and biogeography to describe species, habitats, and evolutionary patterns from that realm.
