From the verb “mull” (to think over; earlier also ‘to grind/pulverize’), recorded in English from the 16th–17th centuries; “mulling” is the present participle/gerund form.

Definition
“Mulling” most commonly means spending time thinking carefully about an idea, choice, or problem—often used with “over” (“to mull over”). In some technical or slang uses it can also mean grinding/powdering, heating and spicing (as in mulled wine), chopping marijuana, joining windows at mullions, or dulling/stupefying.
“Mulling” का सबसे सामान्य अर्थ है किसी विचार, विकल्प या समस्या पर ध्यान से समय लेकर सोचना—अक्सर “over” के साथ (“mull over” = किसी बात पर विचार करना)। कुछ तकनीकी या बोलचाल के अर्थों में यह पीसकर चूर्ण बनाना, किसी चीज़ को गरम करके मसालेदार बनाना (जैसे mulled wine), गांजा काटकर/चूरा करके पीने योग्य बनाना, खिड़कियों को mullion (स्तंभ/पट्टी) पर जोड़ना, या सुस्त/मूढ़ कर देना भी हो सकता है।
