'mud' (कीचड़) + 'slinger' (फेंकने वाला) से बना शब्द; 19वीं शताब्दी में प्रयोग मिला, और बाद में रूपक रूप में राजनीति/व्यक्तिगत बदनामी वाले हथकंडों के लिए व्यापक रूप से इस्तेमाल होने लगा।
Definition
A mudslinger is someone who tries to damage another person’s reputation by spreading false or nasty claims, often during political campaigns or public disputes; literally, it can also mean a person who throws mud.
