मध्य अंग्रेज़ी mistelto से, जो प्राचीन अंग्रेज़ी misteltān से आया है (“mistle” + “tān” अर्थात टहनी/डाली)।
Definition
Mistletoe is a group of evergreen, partially parasitic plants that grow on the branches/crowns of trees (such as apple trees and oaks) and often have white berries; in Christmas tradition, a sprig is hung as decoration and people may kiss under it.
मिस्टलटो (मिस्टलटू) सदाबहार, अर्ध-परजीवी पौधों का समूह है जो पेड़ों (जैसे सेब और ओक) की डालियों/छत्र पर उगता है और अक्सर सफ़ेद बेरियाँ देता है; क्रिसमस की परंपरा में इसकी टहनी सजावट के लिए टांगी जाती है और इसके नीचे खड़े होकर चूमने की रस्म जुड़ी होती है।
