From Middle English mid + land (“middle” + “land”); the name Midlands is used especially for central England and is historically attested from the 16th–17th centuries.
मिडलैंड्स की उत्पत्ति मिडिल इंग्लिश के mid + land (“मध्य” + “भूमि”) से मानी जाती है; यह नाम विशेष रूप से इंग्लैंड के मध्य भाग के लिए प्रयोग होता है और इसके ऐतिहासिक उल्लेख 16वीं–17वीं शताब्दी से मिलते हैं।
Definition
The Midlands refers to the central part of a country; most commonly it names a region of England between the North and the South, often divided into the West Midlands and the East Midlands.
