Definition
A mayor is the top public official of a city or town who leads the municipal government, represents the city, and may oversee administration, services, and the city council (powers vary by system).
मेयर/महापौर शहर या कस्बे की नगरपालिका सरकार का सर्वोच्च सार्वजनिक अधिकारी होता है, जो नगर का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है और प्रशासन, नगर-सेवाओं तथा नगर-परिषद/सिटी काउंसिल के कामकाज का नेतृत्व/देखरेख कर सकता है (अधिकार व्यवस्था के अनुसार बदलते हैं)।
